shopping - April Ipsy 2014

Image
Ipsy has definitely lost it's appeal with me. Maybe I'm too picky, but I think the general idea of subscription boxes has worn off. It's fun to get things in the mail every month, but I'd rather have more control over where my money is going, instead of paying for the unknown. Ipsy has resulted in some great deals over the year and a half I've had it (I've had it since it was available in Canada), but I do have to admit that I cancelled after receiving this bag. I think the bag is super cute, it's a little silly but it'll look good in a weekender bag. My first impression upon opening this bag was "meh". Nothing stuck me as super exciting. BUT before you hear my final opinion and explanation, let's look into the bag. marykayatplay Jelly Lip Gloss in Berry Me - $10 - Full Size I've recently discovered that I'm not a lip gloss person. Lip gloss makes me crazy. It sticks to my face, sticks to my hair, boys don't want to...

Friday Night Nails - Birthday Cake

Image
Hey ladies, My 19th birthday is approaching, and since it'll be here within a month, all I've been thinking about is planning the party. A whole weekend with my friends is exactly what I need and my 19th is the perfect time to get everyone together. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Bubblegum Pink, Nails Inc Special Effects in Topping Lane, Essie's Good to Go topcoat and Essie's First Base base coat.  I took this picture after about 3 days of wear, there was minor chipping on one of my fingers and my thumb, but I always find that ...

sydney, shopping - Summer Prep (Skincare)

Image
With me, there's no Spring, only Summer. The second the sun comes out, I'm convinced that I belong on the beach and my coats are put away until October, which generally isn't a good idea considering Vancouver is super random when it comes to weather. With the weather looking up out here, I've already started pulling out my summer essentials and scoping the drugstore for everything new that can be put into my summer routine. I'm taking the summer off from school to work (and travel, and go to concerts, and mellow out...) so I'm looking forward to busy days and calm, warm nights. Or crazy, wild nights. My beauty routine breaks down into 3 categories this summer: Skincare (including body), makeup, and haircare. I'll be talking about skincare in this first post, and I'll follow up later with my two other categories of favourites. I might add some other suggestions as well, such as music and my own personal plans for the coming summer. Skincare  ...
