shopping - Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Review!

Hey guys!
I know it's been a while, summer sure has kept me busy..
Ha. who am I kidding? I've been sitting around all summer, working, watching movies, and going to the gym when I've got the motivation. Keeping this updated totally slipped my mind. and here, for your reading pleasure, is a review for a brand new nail polish I just picked up :D

So my first overall impression is good. I love the way the bottle looks, made of thick glass, and the color selection is incredible. I've been trying to get my hands (no pun intended) on more feminine things, and "Shell We Dance?" was one of the colors I went for. It's a very light creamy pink, kind of like those light pink Mentos.

The application wasn't too hard, the brush picked up tons of lacquer and applied it as evenly as I would allow it to, though the paint could get streaky at times, and took forever to dry! I am an incredibly impatient person, one of the reasons I picked up a "Complete Salon Manicure" as I don't like to waste much time with base coats, top coats, treatments, etc. because I like to do my nails quickly but still keep them nice. The polish appeared to be pretty opaque at first but upon closer inspection, seemed to need another coat or two, even after 3 coats had dried. The time waiting for the coats to dry and the time it took to paint 5 coats would probably be enough time to go through the whole base coat, polish, top coat deal with other polishes, thus defeating the purpose of saying this is a nail polish for girls on the run.

The actual color, once applied correctly is gorgeous. Very feminine and dainty without being too in your face. I prefer this to hot pinks, and I'm 16. The wear is great, the only chip I've found was made by myself when I broke a nail and had to peel the broken part off (a no-no, I know!)

The price was approriate, at Wal-Mart you can find this for as cheap as $6.50, for a 14.7 ml bottle. Big OPI bottles are around $9 for 15ml, and I believe SHCSM chips WAY less than any OPI I have tried.

Overall, I will be purchasing other nail polishes in this line. The color selection is incredible, and while it may take a while to dry, I believe that this polish is worth the wait, because of the durability of the color. I work in a job where I am always washing my hands, cleaning tables, and working with things in my hands all of the time, and this great find is extremely satisfying. While it may be worth it to pay around 2 dollars more for Essie or OPI, like I've mentioned, this chips way less for me. I can't stand chips, I don't know if anyone does, but if you're just looking for some basic colors, stick with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, and if a special collection is released, go ahead, get OPI, but for now, this is my favourite new brand of nail polish!
