shopping - Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure
Hi ladies!
Influenster has sent me VoxBoxes in the past, as you may have read on my blog before. When I got an email about an ImPress Manicure box, I was completely stoked. Influenster sent me some ImPress Nails in the first Canadian VoxBox, and I raved about them, and I'm happy to say that I've been sent more to review, and my opinions on them haven't changed.
I received two lovely colours/designs from Influenster, 130 Control Freak and D030 Holla! (yes, actually, what a hilarious name!) The first being a bright, shiny pink, the second being a pale pink with what looks like a lace overlay design. In my post about the Canadian VoxBox, I mentioned that these were really easy to apply, and stayed on for a good amount of time, and though I've only tried one set out of this box, that remains the same.
I'll keep my review short and sweet, with a list of my pros and cons for Broadway Nails ImPress Press-On Manicures
PROS:
Fast and Easy to use - No dry time, no messing around with top coats and base coats, and easy-to-follow instructions. In total, It must have only taken me 8 minutes to apply all nails, including using the prep pad.
They actually stick on, and stay on - I remember using the worst stick-on nails when I was younger. Mention the phrase "stick-on nails" and I can suddenly imagine looking down at my nails, with some stick-on nails remaining, and the other nails left bare. They just didn't work. ImPress Nails has mastered the art of Press On Nails, and they've proved to be durable, through working as a cashier and now I'm on my fourth day of wear.
No glue! - Glue-on nails are another pain, the glue gets everywhere, it's hard to control how much glue is put on a nail, and the white residue left by the glue under nails isn't pretty. With no glue, these nails already have the advantage over glue-on nails.
The pretty designs - Some are flashy, and some are more subtle, like the pink pair I chose to try first. I'm no nail art queen, so these are excellent for when I need something more than the typical one colour manicure.
CONS:
Too short! - I DID choose the pair that said they were the short length, but I also had a hard time covering my entire nail with the short length. I cut my natural nails down the shortest they would go, and that helped with making my nails look natural. I wouldn't recommend the short length, only because the thrill of wearing fake nails for me is the length, but that's really only up to personal preference.
Movement - I noticed that I could feel the movement of the fake nail when I used them to do certain things. Itching, peeling back lids, and texting had me feeling the fake nail move, and I would sometimes get strands of hair stuck between my real nail and the fake nail when putting up my hair. This worried me, because I thought they might fall off right away once this started happening, but uncomfortable as it is, they're still holding up regardless.
Overall, I'd love to purchase these myself. They're durable, pretty, and long lasting. I'd rather spend my money on these, rather than getting my nails done at a salon, because while they may not last as long, the designs are awesome, and the price is good for how long they last. I was provided these for review from Influenster, and I truly hope they continue to put these in VoxBoxes, because every girl should know about this gem of a product!
