shopping - Biore Baking Soda Vox Box

Hi girlies!

I know it's been a while since my last post, but my latest VoxBox called for a blog awakening. Influensters latest VoxBox was sent to me a few weeks ago, and I've finally come to a decision on the products they sent me. Influenster sends reviewer products for free, and only asks that we complete review challenges and let them know what we think of what we've been sent.

Included in my VoxBox (and I hadn't received one in a little while, maybe since Sept 2014? I was over the moon) were two brand new products from Biore, the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser, and the Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub, the scrub enclosed in it's own little ziploc, and a card (in French?) telling me all about the products. Luckily, a good friend of mine also received the VoxBox and was able to send me an english pic. I love that my friends are also involved in Influenster, there's so much fun in trying out a new product together and swapping thoughts and how our skin has reacted.

I have been loyal to Biore since my early days of using skincare. Their legendary Pore Strips are a ritual the night before dates, and their Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser removes my make up and oiliness in one step. When I heard about their new baking soda line, I knew I would get to it eventually.

I thought using baking soda on my face would be the strangest thing, I think baking soda has always been a staple in everyone's household, my father buys at least 5 every time we hit up the dollar store, but I had no idea the benefits it would have for treating my skin.

First up, the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser.

I always look for cleansers that are multipurpose, if it can take off the majority of my makeup, it's done it's job. This one seemed to remove most of my makeup, save the delicate area around my eyes, and had a pleasant smell and texture. The cleanser is mildly exfoliating, with little "beads" (maybe bits of baking soda?), but not enough for this to be rough on my skin. It didn't leave my skin tight, just clean enough, and I really enjoyed the unique texture.

As for the Baking Soda Cleansing scrub, I'm in love. I loved the strange little concept of a powder cleanser, and I really liked how I could control the level of exfoliation. The foamy texture was lovely, it kept me rubbing my face longer than needed, but I could always add more powder to make it more abrasive, It has a nice smell as well. My only gripe is how easily it turns to cleanser (to be expected), as in how I had to dry my hands off in the shower and keep it away from the water, it could be a little inconvenient if you don't have the time or patience,

Overall, these new products from Biore are a hit for me. They're something different to try, and they're effective, I felt pampered and excited to try them. Thanks so much for reading!
