shopping - January Empties 2013!
Hello my fellow beauty lovers!
I'll be the first to admit it, I'm obsessed with using things up. I love it. January has been an amazing month for my empties, so lets just get started.
From left to right, beginning at the top!
Secret Vanilla Deodorant: Probably the best smelling deodorant I've ever used, when it works it's "sweat-stopping" magic, the scent is strong and lovely. I would repurchase, although I've got a few to use up already!
Aussie Split End Treatment: I didn't really notice a huge difference in my split ends, but I really began using this after I got a hair cut, and all of my split ends were diminished. I don't seem to have any right now, so it must have worked! The smell alone makes it worth using, kind of reminds me of Daisy by Marc Jacobs, but a little on the softer side. I would repurchase!
Cotton Balls from Fred Meyer: Nothing much to say here, got the job done in terms of nail polish removing, using my toner, and eye makeup removal. Have already repurchased.
Vanilla Bean Noel Hand Sanitizer from Bath and Body Works: I'm not crazy about the smell, it was too sweet for me, but I can't get enough of the actual hand sanitizers from BABW. I love keeping them everywhere, gym bag, back pack, and purse, I would repurchase.
Rain-kissed Leaves "samples": I picked up these while in Disneyland last year, and for some reason, was obsessed with the scent. I'm kinda turned off by it now, but managed to use up 4 shampoos/conditioners/lotions this month. Would not repurchase.
Fresh Sugar lip balm: I didn't actually like this. While it was smooth and buttery on my lips, it never actually felt like it was absorbed, and for what it retails, I won't be repurchasing it.
Clinique All About Eyes: This is what was in the Lush sample container, my actual Clinique container collapsed. I tried to use this ever night, but there was no improvement where my dark circles were concerned. I won't be repurchasing.
E.L.F. Lash and Brow Gel: I use both sides only for my eyebrows, and at a $1 a tube, I have already repurchased and continue to use these up! This sets my eyebrows for the entire day, without leaving behind any strange residue.
E.L.F. Liquid Lipstick in Pink Lemonade: I tried this out for $1 as well, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing. The idea was nice, with a sponge tip applicator that twists up for product, but the formula seemed too sticky for me, nothing like an actual lipstick.
Sally Hansen Xtreme Nails in Cherry Red: This bottle is now a gloopy red mess, and it had to go. The actual product itself was nice, long lasting and a true red. I adore the Xtreme Nails line, it's cheap and the colours all last long. I would repurchase, if I hadn't gone ahead and tried a red from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line.
Down Under Naturals Spray Gel: I can't remember why the heck I bought this, because spray gel is not something I need. It smells super fresh and made my hair feel soft, but I won't be repurchasing because I'm such a fan of hairspray alone, not gel.
got2b Smooth Operator Smoothing Hairspray: I used to be obsessed with this entire line from got2b, and I still don't mind their Lustre Lotion from the line. The hairspray, however, did nothing in terms of hold or shine, it really just made my hair smell nice and become sticky in some areas. It could just be because it was an older product in my collection, but I will not be repurchasing.
Vanilla Bean Noel Body Spray: I've discovered, through the use of body sprays, that I hate body sprays. They do absolutely nothing for me, They last maybe ten minutes and they're gone. I might as well save up for a nice perfume that lasts me all day, instead of spending money on body sprays that have to be "reapplied" every twenty minutes. The scent was too sweet for me, as mentioned above, so this product really turned into a room spray for me. I won't be repurchasing, simply because of my new found dislike for sprays.
Malibu Heat Shower Gel: Finally, the last of my summer scent is gone! I've got backups of this shower gel and the lotion that matches it, as it was discontinued. Hopefully they'll bring it back next summer, because this is easily one of my favourite scents from BABW. I would, and have repurchased.
St. Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Face Wash: My skin is not acne prone, so saying that this worked for clearing my skin wouldn't be saying much. It's more important to me to have a face wash that takes off all of my makeup, and this isn't built for that. I won't be repurchasing as I've found a face wash that does exactly what I want it to.
Winter Candy Apple Triple Moisture body cream: I enjoyed the scent, but the formula of these Triple Moisture creams from BABW, I'm not a fan of. They seem too greasy for me for everyday use, so this only went towards my elbows, knees, and feet. I wouldn't repurchase.
Generic Sprays: "Sweet Pea" and "I Just Wanna Dance": I feel a little embarrassed to be including these two, because I've had the Sweet Pea one for way too long, and the Dance one was picked up at the Dollar Store on an impulse buy. I received Sweet Pea at a birthday party several YEARS ago, and finished it up as a room spray when I found it under my sink. Dance reminded me a lot of Jennifer Lopez's Live perfume, a past favorite of mine that has since been discontinued. The aerosol can real killed the scent though, like there was this weird underlying aerosol can smell underneath it. I would not repurchase either, and I'm so happy to see both go!
Well, there you have it. Everything I've used up, and boy, does it feel good. I don't know when I'll be able to do another one of these, but hopefully soon!
