shopping - Benefit's Sizzlin' Six! First Look

Hi girls!

So, this month, I told myself I wouldn't splurge too much with makeup, since I really wanted something from the new Marc Jacobs cosmetics line. I quickly got that idea out of my head once I saw the $71 price tag for 6 eyeshadows. I've also taught myself lately to only buy things with coupons, and only when they're on sale, so for me to buy this set was a bit impulsive.

I am a huge fan of Benefit, I love the quality of their products, and the packaging is adorable. That being said, I'm still a college student, and my first priority isn't always a new boxed blush. While at work last night, I noticed this in our cosmetics section and I justified it as something I've been waiting for.

Sizzlin' Six Value Pack - $30
I googled this kit and I couldn't seem to find it online. I got this at Shoppers Drug Mart and with  my discount I got it for $21, which isn't bad because a sample set of even two of these items at Sephora would be $18. I've been lusting after the Dandelion blush and have wanted to try out the new lip glosses for some time now. It appears that you can buy it at Ulta, for any of you who are interested. I know this is just a haul post but I plan to review these products in the future.

Dandelion Boxed Blush - Retail Size: $36 (0.25 oz) - My Size: $1.40 (0.1 oz)
I have extremely pale skin, so I think this will work well in the mornings where I'm half asleep, because it doesn't look like a colour I could overdo. It actually felt a bit chalky when I swatched it, but when I swatched the full size, it was fine. Could the quality differ because of the size? Possibly, but either way I'm glad I'm getting to try this. And while it's value doesn't seem shocking, I don't see myself using this up anytime soon, so I'm okay with the small size rather than the large.

Dandelion Ultra Plush Lip Gloss - Full Size: $19 (0.5 oz) - My Size: $8.36 (0.22 oz)
I am already thrilled with this lip gloss! It's not sticky, it smells nice, it lasts long, and it's not too "in your face" for everyday wear. Also, yes, that is my face. The first picture on this blog, I believe. Taking a picture of just my lips looked so silly. It's a very subtle colour but I like it like that. I might even consider buying a full size if I ever use this beauty up!

Benetint - Full Size: $36 (0.42 oz) - My Size: $6.85 (0.08 oz)
I'm a frequent user of High Beam from Benetint, and my sample size has lasted me quite a while. I can't wait to see what this does for me, it appears to be a very natural pink, and I think it'll be nice to work with. I love multi-use items, they save time in the morning and keep my makeup colours coordinated.

The POREfessional - Full Size: $36 (0.75 oz) - My Size: $12 (0.25 oz)
Girl Meets Pearl - Full Size: $36 (0.4 oz) - My Size: $22.50 (0.25 oz)
I didn't include a swatch of the POREfessional, only because it's clear and I didn't bother. I've never had a problem with visible pores, but I love a good primer and I've heard loads about this one. Girl Meets Pearl looks interesting, because I've heard of girls who wear it all over and some who only use it for a highlight. I'm still kind of confused about what I'm going to do with it but I'm glad I'm getting to try it. I might just mix it in with my foundation on a daily basis.

Bad Gal Mascara - Full Size: $26 (0.3 oz) - My Size: $12 (0.14 oz)
You may have noticed that I didn't include Bad Gal, only because I don't want to open the tube, because it will start to dry out. I'm obsessed with They're Real and I don't expect to be disappointed by Bad Gal, but more on that later.

Value of my $21 box: $63.15. Not too shabby. I'll have to keep my eye out for more, and I'll have reviews up soon!
