shopping - March 2013 Ipsy Bag

Good afternoon!

I was so impressed with how quickly I received my bag this month, as a Canadian subscriber, I'm used to it taking much longer. I checked my pink envelope and discovered that Ipsy seems to have opening a new shipping branch close to where I live, which is exciting for all future bags to come.

Although, I'll admit that I'm not too impressed with this month's bag, and I know that not everybody is.

Before you, are the contents of this months bag. Doesn't seem like a whole lot, does it? It does add up to 5, though, 1 hydrating mist, some makeup wipes, a palette and 2 eyeshadows.

My first impressions of these products
1. Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist - Claims to tone and refresh, meant to apply at anytime for a refreshed complexion. I think this will be going in my gym bag, as it's not a makeup setting spray, but the smell is terrible. I like that it's organic, but I can only see myself using this when my face is sweaty.

2. La Fresh Travel-Lite Makeup Wipes - I just tried these to take off my eye makeup, and I don't think that's what they should be used for. My eyes burned. I've never had a makeup removing product burn so bad. Since I really only use makeup wipes to remove my eye makeup, these aren't much use to me if they burn. They took off the makeup though, I might just have to be more gentle with them.

3. Yabi Eye Shadows in "So Vein" (turquoise) and "Sand Dune" (light tan) - I swatched these, and they're awful. I know that sounds really negative, but I was so impressed with the Coastal Scents eye shadows from a couple months ago, it's sad that these just suck. It's also disappointing that these each counted for one product. We got 4 eye shadows from Coastal Scents and that only counted for one. I doubt these will be put to good use anytime soon.
You can't even see Sand Dune!

4. Glam RX palette - I think that this was the product I was the most excited about. Until I realized that the Coastal Scents colours don't magnetize. I don't really buy any eye shadows that I depot, and this really isn't large enough for many shadows. Ipsy gets points for trying something new, but I just can't get over how useless this bag is.

I just feel like I didn't get my $15 worth out of this months bag (Canadian subscribers pay an extra $5 for shipping). The bag itself is very cute but very thin and poorly made. I know I can use the wipes and the mist, but not as holy grail products, and nothing that I haven't had before. I noticed so many comments about wanting blushes and lip products but it seems that they were ignored. I'll continue with Ipsy for a couple more months, but unless I see something great within those months, I might just have to cancel.
