shopping - May 2013 Ipsy Bag!
Good evening!
Let me just start this post off by apologizing for my lack of posts. I know I already did this in my empties post, but I just hate not being able to keep my own blog updated. I'm in a crazy production of Alice in Wonderland (I'm the Red Queen, go figure, "Off with their heads!!") and I've been juggling 3 weeks of 12 hour school days.
But on a fantastic note, I am absolutely overjoyed with this month's Ipsy Bag. I really had no idea what I would be receiving, and I really loved that. I love knowing what I'm going to get, but at the same time, it's always a lovely surprise to not know. I haven't posted the last couple of bags because really, I didn't have a whole lot to say about them, but I can't get enough of this one.

Mirabella Perfecting Powder
Full size - $30
Every time a new Ipsy bag comes out, I relentlessly abuse Google in order to figure out every different possibility of what we will be receiving. This product, however, is the first that I've seen included in an Ipsy bag this month. It would appear to be the full size, the Mirabella website gives no weight for the full size, but this packaging and size seems to be a good match. I have yet to try it out, and though I prefer pressed powders, a girl can never have enough setting powder! This product actually only comes in one colour, translucent.
Yaby Concealer in Buff
Full size - $4.85
I wasn't all too impressed with Yaby's eyeshadows included in an Ipsy bag from a couple of months go, but I was happy to get another chance with the brand with this concealer. I've read that many subscribers have been unhappy with the colour they received, but thankfully, mine works well for my skin. It's a tad bit on the yellow side, but this will only help with correcting. I hope this works well, Yaby! I do enjoy how this fits into my GlamRX pallette, which I've previously received in a bag.
St. Tropez One Night Only Instant Glow Body Lotion
Full size - $22.50 (150ml) Sample Size - $7.50 (50ml)
I've actually been wanting to try something from St. Tropez for a while now, but their price tags don't normally match up with my bank account. I was thrilled to receive this! Though it is only a tinted lotion, rather than a self tanner that gradually tans, I'm allright with it. I'll be able to get some use out of it, though I do prefer gradual, lasting self tanners rather than the ones that wash off on the same day applied. I felt that Ipsy really dipped into a higher brand with this sample, and I like it.
Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Champagne
Full Size - $15
This product was also a lovely surprise this month. My only gripe is the colour I received. It looks alright on my lips but frosty lip gloss is really not my thing. I know I'll use it though, because it does give a nice sheen when I don't go overboard on application. I wouldn't mind seeing more of Juice Beauty in our Ipsy bags, but anything other than that awful refreshing spray from them that I received a couple of months ago. I can't wait to just slick this over my lips for an easy, pretty lip.
Zoya Nail Laquer in Neely
Full Size - $8
This was also another product I was so excited about getting! I've seen that many girls have received the gold colour and a light blue colour, but it was so nice to get one that I hadn't seen before. I do have a colour close to this in my collection, close, but not exact. I'm sure this polish will end up in a Friday Night Nails post soon. I also love that it's a Zoya nail polish, since I've never had the opportunity to try one, I just can't find them here in Canada. It's kind of a minty blue, and really reminds me of Essie's Mint Candy Apple.
Overall value of my May 2013 Ipsy bag: $65.35
I am so ecstatic that Ipsy is stepping it up. I hope they continue with months where I don't know what I'm getting 100%, as long as they remain to send me products this good! Thanks for reading, and please let me know what you ladies got in your May Ipsy below!
Sydney :)
