shopping - May Empties Part 2! 2013
Hi guys!
So, I may have posted my April Empties in the month of May, which is why this is called Part 2. It's crazy to think that May has already flown by, my birthday, Alice in Wonderland, and Grad have all come to an end. Now I've got the last two weeks of school and I'm done for the summer!
I thought I did an okay job this month. There was rare opportunity for me to really commit to using products, considering I used a lot of stage makeup and took quick showers followed by quick sleeps, leaving no time for lotion. I've got a few products just hanging on, so be ready to see those in the month of June!

There was rare opportunity for me to really commit to using products, considering I used a lot of stage makeup and took quick showers followed by quick sleeps, leaving no time for lotion. I've got a few products just hanging on, so be ready to see those in the month of June!
Daily Basics Normal Shampoo: This was only $1, and it was still a total waste. It made my hair so greasy, like it didn't even clean it. I really liked how it was from a Canadian company and how it wasn't tested on animals, but it was awful.
Would Not Repurchase
Clear Total Care Shampoo: I really enjoyed the texture and smell of this shampoo, and this sample was enough for 2 uses. I might consider buying this the next time I run out of shampoo.
Would Purchase
Wella Shimmer Delight Shine Spray: This spray was totally pointless. It smelled nice, but it did absolutely nothing for my hair. I received this in a Glossybox, and it started off half full anyways, it had leaked. Not worth the $17 it retails for.
Would Not Repurchase
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Plum-met: This was a pretty grey-purple, and the application was easy and lasted a long time. These were easy to remove as advertised. I've heard that the strips dry out once opened, but honestly, they don't. I have some left over strips that are doing fine. This made me wary of buying these strips for accent nails, but now that I've found they don't dry out, I would buy more in actual patterns rather than solid colours.
Would Repurchase
Sephora Nail Polish Remover Pen: I loved this thing, and I feel lost without it now. I tried revamping it by dipping it in polish remover, but with no luck. It smelled awful, but that could easily be covered up with lotion after my nails were finished.
Would Repurchase
Avon Bubble Bath in Sugar Cookie: I adore Avon Bubble Bath. It's cheap and it works. I can't stand buying Lush Bubble Bars anymore because Avon just works so much better.
Would Repurchase
Strawberry Champagne Body Lotion: I got this from a friend for Christmas, in a matching set. I found that this lotion smelled so much better then the shower gel, which I couldn't handle. It was too thin for my liking, I don't think I would repurchase, but it was nice while it was around.
Would Not Repurchase
L'oreal Bare Naturale Lip Conditioner in Soft Sugar: I'm pretty sure this is discontinued, and thank goodness for it. It was so gross, it tasted weird and had an odd texture. Though it wasn't sticky, I wouldn't reach for this again in a million years.
Would Not Repurchase
Benefit They're Real Mascara: You've probably all heard of this, and there's a reason for it. This is hands down, my favourite mascara. Well, at least it would be if it weren't $29 here in Canada. I'll try to stick to getting samples, I will probably never spend $29 on a mascara.
Would Repurchase (Would continue to get samples)
Live Luxe by Jennifer Lopez: I used to ADORE the original version of this perfume, and for whatever reason, when I went to buy it again, years ago, I went for this one. What a mistake. It wasn't that it was bad smelling, it was just nothing special. I've seen the original on clearance, and I might just pick it up for fun. This one smelled fruity and only lasted about ten minutes.
Would Not Repurchase
2 Pocket Bacs (Cookie Dough and Pink Sugarplum): I really enjoyed the Cookie Dough scent, but Pink Sugarplum was just not my style.
Would Repurchase (Different Scents)
Clean and Clear Essentials Toner for Sensitive Skin: I really enjoy this toner. It refreshes my skin and picks up all the makeup that my cleanser or wipes may have missed. It's not too harsh and doesn't sting my eyes.
Would Repurchase
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation: This is just the label, because I filled up the empty bottle with my new foundation. I don't know how sanitary that is, but this foundation came with a lovely pump in a glass bottle, but the foundation itself wasn't that great. It felt heavy and cakey, and was noticeable on my skin.
Would Not Repurchase
Cotton Pads: Nothing too special, I use them for tons of things!

So there you have it! Another month, another empties post. I can't wait to see what I get through next month, because I'm not sad to see these products out of my collection. I hope all of you end May in a great way, and thank you for reading!
Sydney :)
