shopping - New additions to my daily makeup bag!
Hi ladies!
It is so darn hot right now, I am beyond happy to be sitting inside typing up a new post. In my journey of July's Project 10 Pan, I've also tried to better rotate the products I'm not focusing on using up. This includes a couple things such as my concealer, primers, and even some new brushes I haven't used as often as I have liked to.
I know many girls do weekly makeup bag updates, and this is kind of like that, so depending on the response, I might continue every time I rotate products. I like the quick reviews and learning about how other people use their products.

E.L.F. Small Stipple Brush - I really love this brush. I got this in my Target Haul a couple of weeks ago, and I'm sure glad I got it. It's dense, but not too dense, and soft but sturdy. I use it for the blush pictured here (I'll get to it in a minute) but I can also use it to apply my foundation.
Real Techniques Detailer Brush - When I first bought this brush, I didn't know what I was going to do with it. I already had an inner corner brush, so it was pushed aside for a while. I found out that this brush is excellent for my Glamoflauge concealer (also pictured). I'll get to that later as well, but it's a fantastic brush for precision and doing exactly what it's meant for, detailing.
Benefit They're Real Mascara - I am so happy to be reunited with this mascara. This mascara and I have a love/hate relationship. It's the perfect mascara, my lashes are enormous and lovely when I use this, but it's $29. Twenty-nine dollars. $30. Thirty dollars. 3 hours of work. Even with my Shoppers discount, I'll never buy this full price. I ran out of Maybelline's The Rocket, another one of my favourite mascaras, and pulled this out from my unopened products. I got this mini sample on my birthday from Sephora, and because I'm awful at mascara reviews, I recommend that you remember to sign up for the Beauty Insider program to snag this for free and see for yourself. I did notice, however, that it seemed a bit dry already, after a couple uses. I freaked out, so hopefully I can make this last as long as possible.
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer in Light - I was so intimidated by this concealer when I first bought it. It's been compared to the Kat Von D Tattoo concealer, and I can see why. This concealer is so thick, you only need the tiniest amount for both eyes, and I have a method of applying it:
1) Apply the Pixi Flawless and Poreless primer to my under eyes.
2) Apply the concealer with my Real Techniques Detailer brush all over my under eyes.
3) Blend out with my finger
4) Apply setting powder over top.
I love my Mac concealer, but this concealer is just so heavy duty. I do find that it can look cakey and settle after a little while, but I don't mind because it does such a great job of covering my under eye circles.
E.L.F. Eyelid Primer - This has been compared to the Urban Decay Primer Potion, constantly, and I love UDPP, so I thought I should give this a try. I don't like the consistency as much as the UDPP, it's more watery, but it does hold my eyeshadow. My only problem with this product is how little product is in it. I'm not close to finishing it but I can already tell that there's less product than the UDPP. I know that this product might be more cost effective, but I've had my UDPP for a couple years now, and it's still filled with tons of product. This was a nice product to try but I'll still go back to the UDPP for the thicker consistency and the amount of product.
Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter - This was also a birthday gift from Sephora. I love this highlighter because of how gold toned it is. I was using High Beam before this and while I liked it, it was too frosty white for me. This highlighter looks more subtle and natural, and this sample will probably last me so long, that I won't ever need to splurge on the full size.
Pixi Flawless and Poreless - I've already mentioned this product, and I think I like it so much because it's perfect for under eyes. I recall using it all over my face under foundation and I hated the look of it, so I'll keep it for my concealer for now.
Model Co. Cheek and Lip stain - I actually have a funny story about this one. In my school play this year, I was on the makeup team, and it was a total dream considering how much I love makeup. One of my friends was playing the Mad Hatter and he would sweat all of his makeup off (gross, but true) so I went home and dug through my collection to find things that would stick to his face all night. Sure enough, this stain did the job for his rosy cheeks. I like using this as a lip stain in the morning to make my face a little brighter and my look a little more put together. It's nice to put something on my lips and not have to worry about smudging or reapplication. It does fade over the day but I can deal with it.
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink - When these first came out, everyone has fascinated with them, and then disappointed by them, myself included. I was watching an empties video the other day and saw that a girl used hers up and I was actually jealous that she did, so I set out to use mine up. It's actually not as bad as I originally though, but maybe that's just because this colour looks fabulous on my cheeks. I use this with my E.L.F. Small Stipple Brush and it goes on perfectly and isn't too bright for my liking.
Thanks for reading!
