shopping - E.L.F. New Jumbo Pencils review!

Good Evening!

I'm pretty happy, as I've got a nice candle burning, and a couple of Oreos in front of me, so it's time for a review!

Today I'm taking a look at Eyes Lips Face's new jumbo pencils. I mentioned these guys already in my Target haul, though I finally got a chance to try them out and form an opinion. Let's just get right into it.

Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in Movie Star

Now, what did I think about this product? I liked it. the $2 price tag drew me in and my general faith in E.L.F. products made me want to try it. I love E.L.F. because really, if you don't like something, you just turf it. You only paid around $1-$3.

The product twists up from the bottom, the bottom colour indicating the colour in the tube. It seems to come with a fair amount of product considering the price tag, and the product itself is encased in a white tube with a clear lid. These aren't stains, but they are well wearing lip glosses. They felt moisturizing enough and lasted a couple hours with nothing else coming in contact with my lips. Although these would be even better if they were a stain, I did enjoy this colour. It's more of a sheer, muted cherry red then a crazy "Whoa! She's wearing red!" kind of look. I know I'll go back to my Target to grab more. They're worth trying out if you're a fan of "stick" lip products. Though, these sticks, or this colour, at least, will stick to any dry spots! Many lip products do, but be sure to exfoliate before wearing these, you might be able to see my dry spots on my lips above, yikes!

The bottom line? Yes, I recommend trying these out!

Jumbo Shadow Stick in Little Miss Thing

I'm just gonna come right out and say that this product didn't thrill me like the lip gloss did. The packaging is the same as the gloss, a white tube with a gold bottom to match the colour, and a clear lid to cover the product. This retails for only $2, like many of E.L.F.'s "new" products, and I purchased mine at Target. I liked the colour, barely visible on my incredibly pale skin to the left, though the lasting power was non-existent. I paired this eyeshadow with Urban Decay's Primer Potion, a holy grail primer of mine, and it was no use. This pencil would just not co-operate with my eyelid. I know that it wasn't a defect of the primer, but the eyeshadow. It didn't even crease horribly, it just disappeared. I noticed even as I was blending it in at the start, it would just fade. It's just so unfortunate that this product didn't work the way it was advertised, or the way that I wished, but I'm not steaming mad that my $2 went down the drain.

Though I was disappointed by only one of these products, E.L.F. still continues to remain one of my favourite brands. I'll run back for more lip glosses but the eyeshadows will be left on the shelf!

'Till next time,

Sydney :)

  1. I love these lip pencil/gloss things but I agree with you on the eyeshadow pencils! I also have Little Miss Thing, and it hardly shows up on me at all (which is shocking because I am pale as a ghost) and it creases in like, minutes.

    1. Yeah! I've got such pale skin as well, I thought this would easily work well with it, but no success. Thanks for reading, I found your fantastic nail blog the other day! :)
